Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny spells and the odd shower, possibly heavy for a time this afternoon, easing by evening. The Bay Of Plenty is mostly sunny with only the risk of an isolated shower this afternoon. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 19-22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Early heavy rain eases to showers, clearing evening. Fresh southwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-17

Eastern North Island
Showers, sunny spells break through at times from afternoon. Fresh southwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-18

Wellington
Occasional showers, fresh to strong southerly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson
Any early showers clear then sunny spells increase, southerly winds, becoming gusty about coastal Marlborough from afternoon. Afternoon north to northeast winds for a time about Nelson.
Highs: 16-18

Canterbury
Showers, easing in the evening. Parts of South Canterbury may have a mainly dry day. Fresh southwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-13

West Coast
Any morning cloud clears then sunny with southeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-18

Southland & Otago
Showers, clearing around midday about Southland and Central Otago then coastal Otago by late afternoon. Sun breaks through once showers clear, southwesterlies die out in the evening.
Highs: 12-13
