A weak front moves over the North Island today, meanwhile another front lines up the lower South Island. A period of settled weather for regions between the fronts.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with southwesterly winds, afternoon north to northwesterly winds for Bay Of Plenty. Areas of mid level cloud move into Northland through to Waikato later in the evening bringing the risk of a shower otherwise mainly dry.
Highs: 26-30
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A shower or two moves in during the morning then clearing around midday, sunny spells increase during the afternoon as northerlies tend westerly.
Highs: 24-25
Eastern North Island
Sunny, a few showers moves into Wairarapa in the afternoon then some cloud moves further north in the evening. Light winds tend easterly after midday.
Highs: 25-30
Wellington
Risk of a few morning showers then sunny spells increase from midday, southerly winds.
High: 21
Marlborough & Nelson
Risk of an early shower, cloudy periods for Marlborough with light winds tending easterly by midday. Nelson has a mostly sunny day, afternoon northerlies.
Highs: 22-24
Canterbury
Becoming mostly sunny in the morning, southwesterly winds tend east to northeast in the afternoon. An overnight southwest change brings the risk of a few showers.

West Coast
Sunny spells, some rain moves into Fiordland during the morning then pushes northwards easing to showers overnight by the time precipitation reaches North Westland. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 19-23
Southland & Otago
Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, rain moves into Southland during the afternoon then Otago in the evening with a southwest change. Rain clears by midnight.
Highs: 19-24
