A northwesterly airflow develops today. Still fairly settled although showers start to affect western regions, the West Coast of the South Island from morning then the western side of the North Island later this afternoon or evening.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and mid / high level cloud, cloud thickens up in the evening bringing a few showers. The Bay Of Plenty may not see a shower till overnight. Light northwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-18
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Areas of cloud and occasional sun, cloud thickens up about Taranaki this afternoon bringing showers. Light northwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-15
Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny weather, may be a touch of high cloud. Light winds
Highs: 14-17
Wellington
A mix of sun and cloud, may be a shower this evening. North to northwesterly winds.
High: 14
Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny areas and some high cloud, light north to northwesterly winds. There may be spot of rain later in the evening or overnight for a brief time otherwise mainly dry.
Highs: 14-16
Canterbury
Morning cloud breaks then expect a mix of sunny areas and some high cloud. Light north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 11-12
West Coast
Mostly cloudy skies, showers about South Westland may spread into North Westland at times from afternoon although long dry areas are looking possible for North Westland. Light northeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-13
Southland & Otago
Mostly cloudy skies, a few scattered areas of rain at times. Light north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-13
