Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A few spits or brief showers then rain develops in the afternoon, rain may be briefly heavy for a time in the evening. Northerly winds.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Areas of rain, easing later in the afternoon to the odd shower. There may even be some brief sun break through later in the day before dusk. North to northwesterly winds, gusty about Taranaki then easing in the evening.

Eastern North Island
Cloudy, spots of rain spread into the Wairarapa in the morning then further north around midday. Spots of rain clearing in the evening. Northerly winds.

Wellington
Areas of rain develop in the morning then clearing later in the evening, breezy north to northwesterly winds.

Marlborough & Nelson
Rain, heavy in the morning for Nelson then clearing later in the afternoon. Some sun may break through for Marlborough later in the day. North to northwesterly winds pick up after midday.

Canterbury
Some scattered rain develops in the morning, clearing in the afternoon. Some sun may break through later in the afternoon. Light northeasterlies.

West Coast
Rain develops early in the morning, easing in the evening. East to northeasterly winds tend northerly by evening.

Mostly cloudy. There may be a few spots of rain or showers in the afternoon then easing or perhaps clearing in the evening. Light winds from the northeast tend southwest about Southland in the afternoon then Otago in the evening.
