Sunny over the North Island today after morning fog patches burn off, light winds tend easterly or northeasterly along eastern coastlines. A few puffy clouds in the afternoon with a chance of an isolated showers anywhere from the Central North Island through to Auckland. Northerlies a little breezy about Wellington late in the day with some cloud.

Mostly sunny in the South Island. Winds will be light in the east tending north to northeasterly, expect a little high cloud at times also from Canterbury southwards. In inland areas east of the main divide northwesterly winds will freshen during the afternoon bringing mild temperatures. Cloud spreading north along the West Coast during the day with drizzle patches in Fiordland turning to showers in the evening, expect north to northeasterly winds.

16 to 17 degree high’s north of the Waikato, mid teen high’s elsewhere in the North Island although a degree or two cooler for southern areas of the Central North Island. Mid teen high’s for most from Southland right up to Nelson along the east coast today in the South Island, in the afternoon temperatures could get upwards of 16 to 17 degrees in inland areas of Canterbury. 14 degree high’s along the West Coast.
