A northwesterly airflow lies over the South Island today, lighter northerlies for the North Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning fog possible then expect sunny spells. A few isolated showers develop in the afternoon, not moving into the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty till evening, the odd shower may be heavy. Light winds tending northwest about Northland.
Highs: 16-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mix of sun and cloud with light northwesterly winds. There may be a light shower or two about Kapiti / Taranaki.
Highs: 14-17

Eastern North Island
A sunny day with light winds.
Highs: 16-18

Wellington
Sunny spells with north to northwesterly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny areas and some high cloud about Marlborough, northwesterly winds. Nelson sees cloud increase from morning, chance of a shower from late afternoon, winds from the north.
Highs: 14-18

Canterbury
Sunny areas and some high cloud, a few spots of rain possible in the evening mainly inland. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 14-16

West Coast
Cloudy with showers, chance of a heavy fall or thunderstorm. Northerly winds.
Highs: 12-13

Southland & Otago
Any early morning spots of rain clear then mostly sunny, cloud thickens from evening with light easterlies. Chance of an overnight spot of rain or light shower.
Highs: 13-15
