A front makes it’s way northwards over the South Island today bringing rain to the West Coast and high cloud out east. Mainly settled for the North Island although cloud thickens about some western areas from Taranaki through to Kapiti in the evening.

breezes.

Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with light winds tending north to northeast by midday.

Mostly sunny with light winds.

Central North Island

Morning cloud breaks to sunny areas and high cloud this afternoon, light
west to northwest winds. Low risk of an isolated shower this afternoon.
High: 25

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, northeasterly winds.
Highs: 24-26

Taranaki

Sunny areas and some high cloud, cloud thickens this evening then towards
dawn on Saturday some rain moves in. Warmer weather inland.
Highs: 23-25

Western North Island

Sunny areas and high cloud, cloud thickens this evening then towards dawn
on Saturday a few showers move in. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 26-27

Wellington

Cloudy areas and a few sunny spells with breezy north to northwesterly
winds.
High: 22

Nelson

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, northerlies winds pick up for a time
this afternoon. Overnight a few brief spells of rain move through.
Highs: 23-24

Marlborough

Sunny areas and some high cloud, breezy north to northwesterly winds.
Overnight expect a few spots of rain.
Highs: 26-27

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with north to northwesterly winds, hot temperatures. Areas of
high cloud increase this afternoon then in the evening there may be a few spots
of rain, mainly Banks Peninsula northwards.
High: 31

West Coast

Cloudy with rain about South Westland easing to showers this morning, rain
moves into North Westland by midday then eases to showers later this evening. As
rain eases to showers expect breezy northeasterly winds to tend westerly.
High: 19-20

Coastal Otago

Becoming sunny this morning, northerly winds. Winds change southerly around
midday bringing some cloud, chance of an evening shower.
High: 26-27

Central Otago

Morning cloud with a few spots of rain possible then sunny areas increase
this afternoon, north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 22-26

Southland

Morning cloud clearing to sunny spells, gusty northwesterlies ease in the
evening.
High: 22
