A ridge lies over most of the country today with an anticyclone centred west of the North Island. Mostly settled weather about although there could be an isolated shower or two about in some areas.

Auckland & Northland
Sunny spells with southwesterly winds, breezy in the afternoon. Risk of a shower this morning otherwise dry.
Highs: 17-19

Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with southwesterly winds.
High: 19

Central North Island & Waikato

Sunny spells with southwesterly winds, freshening a little in the
afternoon.
Highs: 16-18

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with cool southwesterly winds, a few early showers about the
Wairarapa clearing.
Highs: 16-18

Taranaki

Morning cloud with the chance of a shower then mostly sunny with
southwesterly breezes, easing evening.
Highs: 17-18

Western North Island

Sunny spells increase from morning, southwesterly winds gradually
ease.
High: 17

Wellington

Becoming mostly sunny in the morning, cool southerlies ease later in the
day.
High: 13

Nelson

Sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon northerlies.
High: 17

Marlborough

Mostly sunny with light winds tending easterly in the afternoon.
Highs: 17

Canterbury

Mostly sunny weather with light winds in the morning, afternoon easterlies
especially near the coast.
Highs: 16-17

West Coast

Mostly sunny with light winds.
Highs: 15-16

Coastal Otago

Sunny spells with east to northeast breezes.
High: 14

Central Otago

Mostly sunny with light winds, a few clouds from afternoon.
High: 19

Southland

Mostly sunny with cloud increasing a little from afternoon, light
winds.
High: 18
