Mainly clear skies for the South Island today although expect clearing showers this morning about Nelson and Marlborough and some cloud for Southland. For the North Island, morning showers clear for most with sunny spells developing in the afternoon. Showers or rain hang about the east coast however.

Morning rain eases to the odd brief shower from midday, sunny spells possible from midday too. South to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-18
Auckland
Cloudy periods with the odd brief shower possible, mainly in the north.
Cloud breaking at times from afternoon with a few brief sunny spells sneaking
in. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-17

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Early showers clear then sunny spells develop, light southeasterlies. For
the Bay Of Plenty expect morning rain easing to showers which then clear, sunny
spells increase afternoon.
Highs: 12-16

Eastern North Island

Morning showers clear about the Wairarapa with sunny spells there from
afternoon. Showers hanging about Hawkes Bay for much of the day, clearing later
in the evening. Showers turn to rain this morning about Gisborne, heavy falls possible. Southerly winds.
Highs: 12-14

Western North Island

Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather. Southeasterly winds, brisk
about Taranaki then easing later in the day.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington

Morning showers clear, becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon with breezy
cool southerlies easing in the evening then dying out overnight.
High: 11

Nelson

Chance of an early shower clearing then mostly sunny with southeasterlies
easing.
Highs: 11-12

Marlborough

Chance of an early shower clearing then mostly sunny with southeasterlies
easing.
Highs: 10-11

Canterbury

Sunny with light northeasterlies near the coast, calm inland.
Highs: 10-11

West Coast

Sunny with light winds.

Coastal Otago

Sunny with westerly breezes.

Central Otago
Sunny with light
winds, frosty morning and night.
