Northland
Sunny spells, dry at first then isolated afternoon showers develop possibly heavy with thunderstorms in the south of the region. Showers ease later in the evening. Northerly winds.
Highs: 22-23

Auckland
Isolated showers, heavy with thunderstorms possible mainly afternoon. Northeasterlies.
Highs: 22-23

Bay Of Plenty

Periods of rain, heavy with thunderstorms at times (especially in the west
of the district). There may even be brief sunny breaks now and then too.
Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 21-22

Waikato & Central North Island

Periods of rain with northeasterly winds, rain may be heavy with
thunderstorms especially afternoon. East of Lake Taupo conditions may be drier
with only brief rain now and then.
Highs: 18-22

Eastern North Island

Rain, heavy about East Cape then clearing by mid morning. Sunny spells then
breaking through, breezy northeasterlies.
Highs: 22-23

Western North Island

Cloudy periods and the odd sunny spell south of Wanganui, showers develop
in the afternoon then clear later in the evening. Northeasterly winds. For
Taranaki expect periods of rain and breezy northeasterlies, rain may be heavy
with thunderstorms especially northern Taranaki. Rain eases in the evening then
clearing.
Highs: 20-25

Wellington

Early rain clears with sunny spells developing, in the afternoon further
cloud and periods of rain develop before clearing later in the evening. Brisk
easterlies tend northerly PM.
High: 20

Nelson

Periods of rain with the odd heavy fall possible, northeasterly
winds.
High: 20

Marlborough

Heavy rain eases early on, periods of rain continue at times for the rest
of the day. Brisk easterlies tend northerly in the afternoon at which point
sunny spells may break through also.
Highs: 19-20

Canterbury

Rain with heavy falls easing late morning onwards then clearing evening.
Brisk to strong easterlies.
High: 15

West Coast

Cloudy areas with the odd shower, strong easterly winds ease during the
day. Rain sets in at night as winds tend northeast.
Highs: 19-20

Coastal Otago

Cloudy with rain (chance of a heavy fall or two), easing in the evening.
Strong easterlies gale force at times about the coast ease in the evening
too.
Highs: 13-14

Central Otago

Cloudy with brisk easterlies, the odd patchy shower in the north and east
of the district. Easterlies ease in the evening.
High: 15

Southland

A few morning showers clear, remaining mostly cloudy with the odd sunny
break possible from late afternoon. Strong to gale easterly winds ease in the
evening.
High: 16

How about reporting from the Southern tip of New Zealand to the Northern tip for a change. Just saying 🙂
