Winter-like temperatures greeted some people Friday morning but the heat returns across the weekend and into next week as our springlike weather pattern starts to calm down significantly.
Summer will lock itself in across the north and east, and while those in the south will still see a little unsettled weather it should improve significantly on this past week!

Great video as usual. Was thinking of heading up to Fiji on the 28th Jan for 4-5 days. weatherman.co.nz seems to show that cyclone you spoke of head east towards the cook islands. Is it safe to make bookings or do the models not really show reality at this stage?

Just keep an eye on those long range models – does look as though a tropical cyclone is likely to our north east. They are unpredictable but this is looking more and more likely – keep an eye on the models to see how likely it is to impact you – and also check the Fiji Met Service website.
