Expected Rainfall to midnight February 1st

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The status quo looks likely for much of New Zealand with the North Island’s north eastern corner most exposed to wet weather in the coming two weeks, as the South Island continues with a steady stream of high pressure.

There will be some wet weather around the South Island – a weak cold front in the south later this week and a few inland downpours for Canterbury, otherwise the island continues to lean drier than average.

For North Islanders some of those tropical/sub-tropical lows will be skirting past East Cape and Gisborne, bringing some wet weather there. We’re also likely to some some inland downpours for the North Island – again in that north eastern corner and through to about Central Plateau.

As always, refer to your hyper-local daily and hourly rainfall totals from WeatherWatch.co.nz and RuralWeather.co.nz to drill down deeper.

Please note: Our weather videos return tomorrow, Wednesday.
