Eastern North Island’s turn for some heavy rain

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The band of rain that gave some torrential downpours in Auckland today will slip a little further south overnight to lie about the eastern North Island area tomorrow, a southeasterly airflow there will bring rain possibly heavy at times to Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and northern areas of Wairarapa before easing at night. Up to 60 to 70mm of rain can be expected in the ranges.

Areas north of Auckland can expect a few isolated showers to move through during the day, a chance one or two may be heavy with light northwesterly winds.

The pick of the weather goes to Westland and Southland tomorrow with sunny weather expected there, some blue cod fishing about Fiordland would do nicely.
