Dry start but rain later in the week

> From the WeatherWatch archives

After a generally sunny Sunday, today continues to look reasonably bright but as the week progresses, cloud thickens with the return of liquid sunshine for many of us.

There are 2 positives however…

1) It will generally be milder than the previous 2 weeks, so hopefully not quite so miserable and

2) If you live in the east from Gisborne to North Otago, any rain should be patchy and also it should be quite warm at times.

Warmest and driest

Gisborne, Napier, Masterton, Blenheim , Christchurch and Timaru

Cool and damp

Milford Sound, Haast, Greymouth, Hokitika, Westport and later in the week, Wanganui and New Plymouth
