WeatherWatch.co.nz received this video via YouTube from reader Dan Oades showing dramatic footage of a tornado passing over Brooklyn, New York last year.
The footage, shot from an apartment, not only shows the violent storm suddenly hitting but also shows the windows exploding in the shop across the road. The sound of windows shattering and objects faling over can also be clearly heard.
A fantastic, unique, video. Thanks Dan for sending us the YouTube link filmed by meatballday.

Do you know why the windows broke? It doesn’t look that violent.
I’m wondering if wind speed broke the glass or there was a difference in air pressure on either side of the glass. The latter seems unlikely unless the building was well sealed.
