Deadly weather hits Australia

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Australia is again being hit by severe weather with a man being killed yesterday following a flash flood reports the ABC.

The news organisation says a man in his 40s died after being washed into a creek during flash flooding across the New South Wales Illawarra and south coast.

Roads were closed and power was cut to hundreds of people as the storm roared across the region.

Today fresh warnings are being issued for Victoria as a deepening low – which will eventually bring rain to New Zealand – pushes into the region.

Winds of 100km/h are being predicted along with more flooding rains.

Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology has issued a flood warning for the Snowy River in Victoria and in New South Wales following yesterday’s deluge.

Flooding could affect around two dozen properties in the coming hours warns the State Emergency Service.
