Hurricane Danielle has tonight reached category 2 status far out to sea over the Atlantic Ocean.
While the hurricane poses no threat to land, at this stage, it has the potential of reaching Bermuda and dangerous rip tides affecting the eastern seaboard of America.
Hurricanes offshore have proven to be deadly along America’s east coast with beach goers under clear blue skies and light winds being dragged out to sea by dangerous underwater rips.
Danielle has sustained winds of 160km/h.
