As we expected yesterday the heat was turned up today with a number of places reaching into the upper 20s. Tomorrow we expect similar, if not hotter temperatures as a dry nor’westerly flow builds over the country. If you live in inland and eastern areas be prepared to reach close to 30… and in fact the South Island’s east coast may well reach into the mid 30s.
On Saturday it’ll be the North Island’s turn…we’re in for another heat wave.
Today’s highest temperature was 34 at Hanmer Springs
Today’s lowest maximum temperature was 18 at Milford Sound

What happened to the real Far North i.e. Kaitaia, we really do live very nicely past Whangarei. My thermometer showed 25 at Coopers, nice sea breeze today.
regards Kerry.
