Much of the nation was bathed in sunshine today as the anticyclone held its grip over New Zealand but still some cloud and the odd light shower was hanging around in a few isolated areas.
After a frosty start this morning, another one is fairly likely to develop overnight in a few central and southern regions.Temperatures will be near freezing again but tomorrow promises to be a glorious sunny end to the week with daytime temperatures starting to rise.
Today the high was 23 in Kaitaia and the low was 14 in Gore and Invercargill.
