Certainly much cooler across the nation today with that sou’west blowing. Western and southern regions of both islands felt the pinch while eastern areas mostly enjoyed summer warmth.
Tonight’s likely to be a cool night again for many places and a southerly over the bottom half of New Zealand means lower temperatures again tomorrow. For those that like the heat, it should return mid to late this week – with the weekend looking especially hot and sunny in the North Island.
Today’s highest temperature was 26 at Napier.
Today’s lowest maximum temperature was 14 at Gore and Invercargill.
