Two different islands, two different weather systems, two sets of daytime highs.
A sub-tropical low in the north kept most places relatively mild in the North Island, while a high and cold southerlies kept the lid on highs in the South Island.
The South Island’s West Coast was also warm.
Today’s highest temperature was 25 at Kaitaia.
Today’s lowest maximum temperature was 10 at Manapouri, Gore, Molesworth.
