Cover up – Situation & outlook for Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

On Tuesday we still have the same cold southwesterly airflow across the country that ruffled some feathers today!

Though this system will ease tomorrow, winds along the east coast – especially right on coastal areas – will be quite strong and gusty during the day, with a risk of gales for exposed areas.
Banks Peninsula is a good example of this, perhaps the Kaikoura coast too, and to a slightly lesser extent Otago Peninsula.

The Wairarapa coastline will feel some strong winds during the day, too.

The West Coast of the South Island, Nelson and Marlborough get the best weather (no surprises), while the Bay Of Plenty is in for a good day once morning showers clear also.
