This week will see cooler weather than last week generally speaking as our wind direction chops and changes from warmer northerlies to cooler southerlies.
Daytime highs will fluctuate as the winds do, with eastern and southern areas of the South Island most changeable.
Christchurch, for example, will see cooler conditions tomorrow before hot and sunny Wednesday only to be cooler Thursday.
Rain will again affect the West Coast with a few falls even making it into the North Island on Tuesday – but don’t expect a great deal in the north and east.
Windy weather will also come and go.
Temperatures in the north will drop from the mid to late 20s to the lower 20s.
In the Deep South it will be even colder. Invercargill may only reach the mid teens on Thursday with hotter weather returning next week.
At this early stage next week looks sunnier and drier – but may still be windy for some.

Looking like it’s going to be mid teens for a large part of the South Island on Thursday and Friday according to the Metservice temps.
