All South Island centres are in single figures this morning, under mostly clear skies and a few frosts have formed too.
Parts of Central Otago are as low as minus 7 this morning but Queenstown is currently minus 2 with Wanaka hovering on zero.
Winds are generally light with barometric pressure readings relatively high.
This weekend the settled spell is likely to change, especially in the south and east, with showers moving in and cold southerlies bringing snow to quite low levels, moreso on Sunday.
