Cook Strait weather disrupts ferries

There’s more travel hassle for Interisland ferry passengers this morning, but this time it’s weather causing disruption on Cook Strait.

Heavy seas and strong winds have cancelled the Aratere’s sailings this morning. 

Bookings were light, and freight and passengers have been transferred to the Kaitaki.

I see the forecast is Northerly to 30kts and a 1m Southerly swell.   Is that the best excuse they could find?
