Cold southwesterlies continue on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Tuesday is set for more of the same, weatherwise – as the southwesterly airflow which brought strong, cold winds to many places today continues to sit in place over our heads.

Though the windy conditions associated with the windflow will ease a little from Monday, showers are expected for Southland and Otago.
The rest of the South Island should stay reasonably dry, though Banks Peninsula is in for some showers, as it sticks out from the rest of the island.

Further north, areas from Taranaki northwards should see showers at times, while it stays mostly dry in the east of the island.
