Cloud, drizzle and rain – The Big Picture on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

There’s a fair bit of drizzle, showers and rain around the country on Tuesday, as a cloudy and wet weather system moves onto both islands.

Most of the South Island is looking wet or cloudy, with Southland, Otago and the West Coast all seeing rain or showers at some point during the day.
Canterbury is in for cloud through the day too – with drizzle and rain about at times along with southerly breezes, while further north, Marlborough and Nelson look cloudy too – with some brief spells of rain in the afternoon and evening.

Most of the North Island is clearer, though patches of rain stick around Wellington and the whole lower half of the island.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & the Bay Of Plenty look sunnier, though the odd shower may sneak through towards late afternoon or evening.
