Christmas Eve: Heating up in the South Island

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Christmas Eve is looking pretty good almost everywhere around the country – and in some cases, too good!

Northwesterlies will push temperatures up in the South Island’s eastern regions, meaning inland places could get up near the 30 degree mark at times.
Coastal areas of Canterbury will be cooled by easterlies, so the temperatures may not reach as high as inland parts, but it’s still looking like a cracking day for you!

All through the island, from Marlborough right down to inland eastern Otago is looking hot today too – not so much a risk as a heads up!
