With the remnants of Evan continuing to slide out to over the Tasman, our atmosphere will continue to be unstable.  Look for more scattered precipitation about the North Island today, but drier conditions expected for much of the South Island.

Upper North Island

Mainly cloudy and breezy with scattered showers. Some dry periods with patches of sun are likely.  Muggy.  High 26-28

Lower North Island

Mainly cloudy except in the far south and east where a mix of sun and clouds is expected.  Breezy with scattered showers.  Muggy.  High 24-27

Upper South Island

A mix of sun and clouds.  A few scattered showers are possible tonight.  High 24-27

Lower South Island

A mix of sun and clouds.  High 22-26

Please, the rain can stop now. We have had just the right amount now with 135 mls from Evan with a small flood at Hukerenui Northland. Long term, a possible new event forming in Coral Sea now for early January????
