It will be an active Christmas for around 50 people gathered at Antarctica’s Scott Base.

Base leader Becky Goodsell says it will be a white Christmas, with snow everywhere.

She says the crew had their Christmas dinner yesterday afternoon, with several activities planned for today.

“We’ve got a uphill race against McMurdo which involves running uphill as fast as you can, about seven minutes of running uphill, so there’s that for the keen ones in the morning.”
