Chilly start – Tuesday’s #WeatherRisks and the Place to Be

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Tuesday is looking cool, calm and clear for most places, after a pretty hectic month so far – though there are a few spots of rain here and there to go along with the good stuff.

It’s been a cold start for the interior of the South Island, with Alexandra currently sitting at a fresh -0.5C!
Queenstown and Gore are also in negative territory, though things should get (a little) warmer through the morning, as the sun comes out.

The Place to Be:
Today, it’s gotta be the western North Island (including Central North Island), which sees early cloud breaking to leave some sunny weather, and any southeasterly winds easing in the evening.
Your temperatures should peak only at about 16C today – which fits nicely into May averages.
