…very strange…after a sunny morning with a light westerly breeze, and the upper winds showing more SW, the cumuliform buildups commenced, this time more to the SW of Christchurch, and showers commenced here just after 11 am AND we actually had some SLEET!
Strange, because after hitting 15 deg C, the temp had only dropped to 10 Deg C, and one would not expect sleet.- hail, yes!
The freezing level must be pretty low ? ..[.must check that thickness chart thingy]
8 – ]
….currently, we have a mod SSW and temp climbing to 11 deg C….
