Campgrounds are filling up earlier than usual this season.
The Holiday Accommodation Parks Association believes it’s because of the days the holiday season fell on.
It says a lot of people took the days leading up to the holiday off and got away early, so parks near beaches and lakes have been really busy.
The Association says camping is still a New Zealand tradition, and a social occasion for summer friends who meet up every year.
