Breather today, another front tomorrow

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The cool air that swept up the country yesterday and overnight, should depart today but only for a short time.

Sou’ west winds saw the mercury plunge from Gisborne to Invercargill with Blenheim recording just 8 degrees at one stage with a heavy shower yesterday afternoon.

The sun should return today for those areas that missed out yesterday and for those who saw plenty of sunshine in the west, might see cloud and some moisture move in later today or tonight on a west or nor’ west wind.

Tomorrow it appears like the same old story with yet another front moving up the country with clearing skies in the west but cold and damp conditions in the east. For Cantabrians, it doesn’t look like the best of the weather for  the long weekend starting tomorrow but the sun should be back by Saturday.
