Big Day Out – Auckland forecast for Friday

Updated 7:40am Friday — The weather forecast for the Big Day Out at Western Springs Stadium in Auckland is a mostly dry one – but the wind is expected to become blustery as the day goes on.

WeatherWatch.co.nz says a weak front will pass over Auckland Friday morning bringing light showers, then winds turn stronger south west and continue to strengthen as the afternoon goes on and becomes mostly dry.  Winds should ease back a bit after dark then further overnight.

Temperature-wise – at least it won’t be scorching hot. The high is 20 degrees.

The afternoon looks mostly dry but we can’t rule out the risk of a remaining brief shower.
