The best summer weather today appears to be along the West coast of the South Island and also Otago and Southland. Sunshine should rule in these areas with temperatures getting close to 30 degrees in inland regions.
The rest of the country is looking fairly unsettled with some fine spells but also showers or rain could dampen some outdoor activities.
Auckland should escape with a mostly dry day but other main centres might see a little liquid sunshine from time time but perhaps nothing too major.
Overall temperatures were down yesterday on earlier in the week but today may see a few centres start to climb again especially away from eastern places but not to any particularly dizzy heights.
Tomorrow sees another front whip up the South Island with a cool southerly in the east but the North Island should see a mostly dry day with just an odd shower here and there.
