There are a few weather risks around the country today, particularly related to humid northeasters in the North Island, which will shake things up a bit…
North Island
The west of the North Island is looking more unstable, with heavy showers and possible thunderstorms in the forecast, towards evening or in the late afternoon.
Areas south of Auckland, right down to Palmerstorn North, including Taranaki are also at greater risk of some heavy weather late in the day.
South Island
For the South Island, isolated showers are possible late afternoon or evening about inland parts of Canterbury and Buller.
These showers could become heavy with thunderstorms too, but the risk is lower than in the North Island.
