After Sydney sweltered through a pair of hot days early in the week (38 degrees C); Thursday and Friday were very different, with cool and soggy conditions.
Parts of Sydney saw their wettest weather since winter on Saturday, as a low pressure trough lingered and directed a fair amount of moisture across the region.
From this system, Observatory hill picked up 61.8mm, Richmond was doused with 55.4mm and Penrith collected 46.2mm.
The persistent rain has cleared in time for the weekend, presenting a better opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities, despite gusty winds developing late yesterday and lasting through Sunday.
The week ahead looks less extreme, with less marked fluctuations in temperatures day-by-day and showers rather than relentless rain.
