Much of the country should see a dry day with dawn services unaffected by the weather in the main but more heavy rain is expected along the west of the South island with further falls redeveloping over parts of Otago and Southland.
Yesterday rain moved into eastern areas of the South Island with very cool temperatures but today is expected to be the reverse with nor’ westers kicking in with dry and warm conditions. Unfortunately much of the rain from yesterday is expected to evaporate in the blustery conditions.
The North Island appears to miss out on any moisture today with just a handful of showers possible in hilly regions between Taranaki and Wellington.
Temperatures could be a little warmer overall than yesterday and above average for the last week of April.
