It’s still some time out, but the models this week have been consistently picking yet another Australian low coming our way.
Forecasters in Australia have been very busy lately with plenty of rain in the south, east and inland – and it’s these lows, or areas of rain, that are now crossing the Tasman towards New Zealand.
The rain coming into parts of New Zealand this weekend has hitched a ride from southeastern Australia and in about a week it looks like a repeat performance.
An exact track for the low isn’t locked in – some models pick it crossing the North Island, others the South Island. It also looks like it could be quite sizeable – but that doesn’t mean severe, especially as it may weaken as it heads towards New Zealand.
We’ll keep you posted next week – and remember to check out the rain and wind maps for more details.
