Anniversary Day updated forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

After a weekend of dry and sunny conditions, Auckland can expect more of the same for Anniversary Day.

High pressure will be centred over the country on Monday.  It should be in the perfect position to give all of New Zealand a dry day.  Auckland, Northland and the Coromandel Peninsula could see some rather brisk winds during the afternoon.  Highs are expected to be in the mid 20’s.  Those increasing winds could help a few clouds bubble up over the Coromandel Peninsula during the afternoon, but the threat of any precipitation falling from those clouds is very low.

The rest of the country will see dry and settled conditions on Monday.  The warmest temperatures are likely to be found around about the western North Island and the eastern South Island.

In fact, Christchurch will be getting very close to the 30 degree mark.  That’s a trend the Cantabs can expect to continue through the middle of next week as well.
