It’s hard to believe a few days ago there was a Category 5 record breaking cyclone just north of New Zealand because on Wednesday what was Cyclone Donna fell apart while tracking just south of New Caledonia.
Earlier today (Thursday May 11) it was tricky to see where the remnants of Donna even were with the low falling right apart.
But this afternoon the new area of low pressure has started to deepen north of New Zealand as it merges with another system around New Zealand – you can see it in this 3pm hour animation.
