Snow overnight and again this morning is falling on alpine passes in the South Island.

Lindis Pass may see some more snow today but further north, Porters Pass in Canterbury is preparing for another snowfall tonight, after last night  snow fell as low as 2-300 metres in the region.

Further south and the Kilmog (Dunedins northern motorway) and Clarkes Junction on SH 87 could see some more snow this evening. The Milford Road will see more snow off and on throughout today and this evening, making conditions very slippery.

Up north and snow is likely to fall on higher parts of the Desert road overnight and tomorrow morning as the cold southerly outbreak heads north.
