It’s been a hot and sunny week in the Central Otago town of Alexandra with the 30’s being topped everyday.

Today it’s set to be another scorcher with temperatures expected to get close to 35 degrees but other inland areas of the mainland have also had intense heat this week.
Twizel, Lake Tekapo, Queenstown, Cromwell and Wanaka have all felt the fierce heat and the one bonus is that the early morning hours has seen the mercury slip to the mid-teens.

Tomorrow, a cooler change is expected across much of the South Island with a southerly bringing some cloud and the chance of some showers however considering that fact, Alexandra may still see the mercury top 26 or 27 degrees!
