We start a new week with a front moving over the South Island and bringing rain – while a ridge steadies and settles things in the North Island – though there remain conditions for fog or mist to start the day in inland places.
Grey: A chance of fog in the morning Auckland through to the Central North Island.
Light blue: Wet in Southland, Otago and on the West Coast at times through the day.
Grey: A chance of fog in the morning Auckland through to the Central North Island.
Dark blue: Heavy rain for the West Coast of the South Island overnight – heaviest for Fiordland.
Most of the North Island will see sunny spells while in the South Island, the east is mostly cloudy with the odd spot of rain or showers.
Light blue: Rain and showers in the western extremities of both the South Island and North Island.
It’s once again shaping up mostly cloudy for much of the North Island, with showers at times in the west, and sunny areas and some high cloud out east.
High cloud increases in the east of the South Island, along with the odd spot of rain.

Hi WW, I am enjoying the new look and forecasts both daily & ten day ahead on my home computer & my iphone. They give a instant view into the weather especially the maps ie, 3 day ahead ones, thank you for the great work.
