A little rain, staying warm in the east – #WeatherRisks and your Main Centre outlook on Thursday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The weather around the country stays fairly calm and settled, after some drama with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms early in the week.

Isolated showers may develop about Northland in the afternoon, which brings the low risk of thunderstorm and the odd heavy downpour, before clearing in the evening.

For the rest of the country it’s fairly clear sailing, but high temperatures prevail in the east of both islands once again, and for most of the North Island in general.

Main Centres

Auckland

Sunny and warm in Auckland, with light winds and a high in the late 20s making for a beaut of a day.

Wellington

Northerlies pick up towards the afternoon in Wellington, with areas of cloud here and there – but sunny spells should keep things pleasant – temperatures in the early 20s for most.

Christchurch

Chance of some rain showers in Christchurch, despite high temperatures (mid 20s) and sunny spells, with light northerly winds.
