A cool start

Single digit temperatures are the norm across most of the country this  morning and a touch of frost was felt in many central and southern regions too.

Surprisingly Nelson and Levin saw a shower or 2 this morning but more than 80% of the country were enjoying blue skies.

Temperatures are expected to lift into the mid to high teens with one or 2 inland areas nudging 20 degrees.
