It’ll be another cool start for inland parts of both islands – more so for places in the South Island – from inland Otago up through to inland Marlborough.
Temperatures looking like hovering around freezing, possibly a degree or two either side – especially in sheltered areas just before daybreak.
The same goes again for overnight, however due to a developing northwest airflow about the lower South Island, Otago may not get as cold, while a ridge affects more of the North Island overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday morning.
This means a colder start early Wednesday for the inner North Island.
Auckland
Sunny and clear, with temperatures in the low 20s and southwest breezes through the day – a bit of a corker!
Wellington
Mostly fine in the capital too, with gentle southerly breezes and temperatures in the late teens – so a little fresh, but a great day in store.
Christchurch
Mostly fine through the day, with light southerly winds and temperatures in the late teens to note – otherwise a beaut of a day.
