Spring weather is continuing its blustery ways this afternoon.
Currently in the upper North Island westerlies are making their presence felt with gusts reaching up to 57 kilometres per hour in Auckland. Meanwhile strong southerlies are blowing through Wellington with Mt Kaukau recording a gust of 94 kilometres per hour.
The east coast of the South Island is feeling the cold thanks to the southerly with Christchurch and Dunedin on 9 degrees and Kaikoura only on 8.
On a positive note, lingering showers should continue to ease for the majority of New Zealand.

We climbed the pinnacles in coromandel yesterday and got absolutely hammered by high winds and some heavy showers. Many parties wisely turned back but it didn’t help us we were already at the top when it hit!! Gusts were strong enough to nearly knock you over. Fun though….
