At least 50 houses have been evacuated following a scrub fire in South Auckland this afternoon.
Two ambulances are on standby and police are in attendance at the blaze on Rukumoana Place in Clendon Park, Manukau.
A 3 News cameraman at the scene says there are at least eight fire engines and three specialist tankers brought in from Auckland Airport.
It is not known what started the blaze.
Meanwhile, another scrub fire has broken out at Snells Beach, north of Auckland. At least two houses are believed to be under threat.
